KONTUR² (KONTUR2) – A SOLO DANCE WORK BY SYARIFUDDIN SAHARI

08:00 PM Singapore Standard Time

Centre 42 Blackbox, 42 Waterloo St, Singapore 187951

Kontur² is a deeply personal 40-minute solo dance work by @madjellywithskelly. Through movement, it explores the layers and complexities of being a male brown dancer in Singapore: navigating Western culture and the street-style elements that shaped his movement practice, and reconnecting with his ancestral roots. The work draws on the movement vocabularies of Malay dance, Jaipongan (West Java) and Jamaican Dancehall, and asks: what defines the body of a 21st-century Singaporean Malay-male dancer? This new phase expands the original choreography into a multidisciplinary piece, with digital multimedia projections by @nfj15 in an intimate blackbox setting. SHOWS • Mon 16 Nov – 8 PM • Tue 17 Nov – 8 PM Running time: about 40 minutes TICKETS: $32 per show (Peatix, link below) Supported by LASALLE's pilot SoDT Alumni Residency Programme.
